The Community Foundation invests $2.7 million to strengthen nonprofits
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is announcing $2.7 million in grants to strengthen nonprofits in the 23-county region. A group of diverse organizations applied for funding in 2012 through a variety of grant programs, most of which focus on general operating support. Recent programs and awards include:
- Common Good Funds: $990,200 to 15 organizations
- Goizueta Foundation Opportunity: $990,000 to 10 organizations
- Grants to Green: 15 Assessment Awards
- Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund: $700,000 to 15 organizations
- Neighborhood Fund: $61,050 to 5 organizations
The Community Foundation has also provided $113,300 in management consulting to nonprofits through our Nonprofit Toolbox program and $19,000 through our Nonprofit Scholarships program. In addition to the various nonprofit grant and support awards, The Community Foundation will award nearly $510,000 to 157 students pursuing higher education through our various scholarship programs.
