Church Releases Report on 2008 Hurricane Relief
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today released a report of its hurricane relief efforts during the 2008 hurricane season. Since late August, the Church has sent dozens of semi-truck loads of supplies to the Gulf Coast to aid those affected by Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike. Full Story

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, the oldest living apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died last night, age 91. Full Story
BYU animated short wins Nicktoons’ Viewers’ Choice and Producers’ awards
In another excellent example of BYU student mentoring, a team of animation students have produced a short film which has received national acclaim. Overseen by professors, the students themselves assume the roles of producer, director, art director, writers, editors and student composers, among others. Production of “Pajama Gladiator” lasted two years, with the BYU students and graduates generally working 40 hours or more a week. Full Story
