Lynda S. Moerschbaecher

 

 

Lynda S. Moerschbaecher was born in Illinois and grew up in rural Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and taught French in Toronto and English in Quebec City. She later moved to California, where she earned a Law Degree and a Masters in Business from Golden Gate University. She worked for Bank of America as a tax expert, before joining Yale University as Assistant General Counsel.

She founded her own law firm in 1980 and is considered to be one of the leading attorneys in North America on the philanthropic transfer of wealth. Her individual client profile is often a CEO or investor with a personal net worth of $10 Million to $100 Million. Her nonprofit client profile is typically an organization serious about adopting best business and governance practices that wants to go to the top in endowment and is ready to commit to creating a sound management and marketing infrastructure to get there.

Lynda founded a software company, LMNOP Publications, which produces software for document assembly and research for charitable planning. She founded Charitable Gift Planning News, which is now in its twentieth year of publication.

She was the first woman President of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council and was the founding President of San Francisco Women Tax Lawyers. She served as Chairman of the San Francisco Bar Association, Probate & Trust Division and as a director of the 15,000-member National Committee on Planned Giving. For a number of years, she served on the faculty of her alma mater, Golden Gate University Business School, teaching candidates for Masters Degrees.

Lynda is a pilot and is a member of the Board of Directors of the 170,000-member Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) which hosts an annual week-long fly in at Oshkosh in which approximately 750,000 people participate. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Aviation International, San Diego Aerospace Museum, the Foundation of City College of San Francisco, and Design Innovation Institute in San Diego.

Lynda is the author of over 200 professional articles and the author of six books. Her fifth book, Building an Endowment Right from the Start, is published by Precept Press, Chicago, IL. The sixth, Marketing Magic for Major and Planned Gifts, will be released next year.

She has spoken professionally over 1,000 times for high level audiences in every state except Alaska. Her new website, www.LyndaM.com, gives details of her work and her presentations.
