The National Association of Philanthropic Planners is a nonprofit group of independent financial professionals who advance donor advocacy by bringing the "heart of philanthropy to the business of philanthropy." Through an annual educational conference and our unique Conference PhilanthropySM, we build America's philanthropic capacity and unite financial advisors, charitable planners, financial services firms, family wealth counselors, and nonprofit planned giving officers in a non-biased, collaborative environment.

As independent practitioners whose personal and professional ideals focus on American traditions of charity, philanthropy, and voluntarism, we come together to advance donor advocacy and build America's philanthropic capacity through an annual conference, teleconferences throughout the year, and via an interactive website.

At all NAPP conferences, the business of philanthropy meets the heart of philanthropy. Some of the best minds in the philanthropic world are slated for presentations, interactive sessions and panel discussions. Topics include creative planning techniques for high net worth individuals; dealing with unique assets; integrated steps to achieving happy charitable clients; the uniform principal and income act; CRT versus private annuity; supporting organization versus a private foundation; among others.

Nationally recognized speakers include Charles Collier, Senior Philanthropic Advisor, Harvard University; Barbara Culver from Resonate; Laura Hansen Dean, Esq., Barnes and Thornburg; James Smyth from Crotty & Smyth; Philip Temple, Esq., from McCarthy, Fingar, Donovan, Drazen & Smith, LLP. Additionally, top legal minds will present updates on how new tax and legislation can affect your business and clients.

Regarding the heart of philanthropy, NAPP's traditional Conference PhilanthropySM project will see conference goers and their guests volunteer up to five hours to local Rosemont/Chicago charities. Those who choose to participate not only enjoy giving their time, effort and heart to the community in which they meet, but take back home exciting ideas for service in their own communities.

For details of the full program agenda, to learn about each of the speakers, and to register online, view NAPP's Web site www.napp.net or call Amanda Simmons at (800) 342-6215. You do not need to be a NAPP member to attend. Take advantage of the early-bird registration which is available through February 15th.
