I am new to this forum and have a question about starting a Private Foundation. I hope I am posting this question in the right area/category.

I am a holder of private stock from an investment I made in a company that will likely have a liqudation event.  A sale of the private stock.

I am aware of the tax benefits when 'gifting' private stock to a Private Foundation/Charity.

My dilemma is this:  I do not know what the price of the shares will be until a liquidation event and therefore do not know how much stock to gift.  I do want to gift too little or too much.

I am interested to know if others have been in this situation and how they dealt with this. I want to gift stock prior to the sale to get the tax benefits.

Any guidance would be very helpful.

Thanks
